Jeff Probst ushered in a “Blood Moon” twist by dividing them into three new groups for three Tribal Councils where, for the first time in series history, three players went home in a night. Genevieve Mushaluk, Kamilla Karthigesu, and Colby Donaldson all said goodbye, leaving those they were working with picking up the pieces of their fractured alliances.

This week, information-sharing continues to present issues for the 14 remaining players as “lines in the sand” become “walls in the sand” heading into a single Tribal Council where one person becomes the first member of the jury. Read on for our recap of Survivor Season 50, Episode 7, titled “That’s Not How I Play Survivor” which aired Wednesday, April 8 on CBS, to find out what happens at the largest Tribal Council vote the game has ever seen.

The players still in the game at the start of the episode were: Aubry Bracco, Benjamin “Coach” Wade, Chrissy Hofbeck, Christian Hubicki, Cirie Fields, Dee Valladares, Emily Flippen, Joe Hunter, Jonathan Young, Ozzy Lusth, Rick Devens, Rizo “Rizgod” Velovic, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, and Tiffany Ervin.

Dee ValladaresScott Duncan/CBS

“At the same time I’m not shocked because I always knew he didn’t have a brain.” — Dee Valladares

While the eliminations of Genevieve and Colby were expected outcomes for their groups, there were still a number of unexpected outcomes from the three “Blood Moon” Tribal Councils. Tiffany was not expecting Jonathan to turn on Kamilla and her the way that he did, Devens and Christian had expected (and hoped) that Aubry would play her idol (she did not), and from Coach’s perspective a “line in the sand” had turned into a “wall in the sand” between the various competing alliances forming around camp. One-time allies from the same original Kalo tribe, Dee, Jonathan, and Coach had a major falling out the next morning because Jonathan and Coach were unhappy with how Dee blindsided them in the Charlie Davis vote, but their attempts at publicly calling her a liar didn’t land well with other people like Emily who felt threatened by Coach into following his personally branded code of “honor.”

Coach also missed the mark when he approached Rizo with an invitation into his “Four Horsemen” alliance to fill the vacancy left by Colby. Rizo, of course, accepted, but as any smart player would do, recognized it as the substitute position it is and immediately went to his true ally, Cirie, to affirm his connection with her and Ozzy. Rizo thought that he had a strong working relationship with Dee as well, but Emily casually informed him that Dee told her about his idol, putting Dee in the precarious position of having to defend herself to Rizo with a lie on the same morning Jonathan and Coach were already calling her a liar. Later on, Cirie and Rizo decide that if the majority wills it, they might have to cut ties with Dee because of her “f–k-up.”

Ozzy LusthScott Duncan/CBS

“This was kinda like waking up the beast. These guys don’t know what’s coming for them.” — Ozzy Lusth

When the opportunity presented itself for one player to go on a new Journey, no one wanted to step up and so the group left it to a chance draw. Stephenie was the unlucky one chosen to compete on her own in what was an hour-long endurance challenge to either earn an advantage or lose her vote. Stephenie was successful and earned the Steal a Vote, knowing full well that the Journey increased the target on her back after winning the first immunity challenge in the previous episode. Though Stephenie wanted to keep the advantage a secret, Cirie caught on to her lie and confessed the truth of what she had won, hoping that it would remain between the two of them. But as Cirie does, she leveraged Stephenie’s truth to further draw Rizo in by keeping him in the loop.

Later at the day 15 Immunity Challenge, Jeff once again divided the group into “two tribes of seven” to compete first for a group Chinese takeout reward and second for individual immunity. Unlike last week, the players participated in a schoolyard pick to select their own tribes. Jonathan was one captain, choosing to compete with Cirie, Chrissy, Rizo, Tiffany, Coach, and Aubry; Christian was the second captain, choosing Ozzy, Devens, Emily, Dee, Stephenie, and Joe. By the end of the first obstacle course, Christian’s team had won and earned reward. In the individual challenge, Ozzy displayed the most balance to become the only player guaranteed safety and notching his eighth personal win over the course of his series tenure and first in 15 years.

Rizo VelovicScott Duncan/CBS

“The fact that a 25 year old Albanian kid from New York City is teaching people Survivor that are double their age… is embarrassing.” — Rizo Velovic

Among the challenge losers not enjoying Chinese takeout, the talk around camp was that both Dee and Aubry were on the chopping block with Jonathan and Coach pushing strongly that Dee must go home and that Aubry must flush out her idol. Aubry knew that she “f–ked up” in telling everyone she “forgot” to play her idol during the Blood Moon and that the best way to take the target off her back would be to dump it at the next vote.

In the off chance that Dee successfully played her Shot in the Dark, Coach instructed that there should be a split vote where Tiffany receives four votes so that she’d go home as a second option, but even though he was going around camp telling everyone who to vote for he was furious that someone “leaked” the plan to “players in the middle like Christian” (it was Devens). Rizo was the one to point out to Coach that Rick, like Christian, is in the middle and obviously informed Christian about the plan. Over the course of the afternoon, an “overlying frustration about Coach” and his “desire to control the situation” settled in around camp and unintentionally put him on the radar as well.

At the 14-person Tribal Council, “lines in the sand” came up once again and Emily informed Jeff that there were fights and conflicts of varying degrees following the Blood Moon twist. Dee knew she was on the chopping block between “two big groups that are building,” but warned that there are “people in the game that are way scarier” than her and that “the people that feel safe tonight, they should be scared.” Eventually Dee got up and turned it into a “live Tribal,” but Coach remained unphased by the antics — and for good reason. As promised, Aubry played her idol and, as guessed, Dee (unsuccessfully) played her Shot in the Dark. By a 9-4-1 vote, Dee was eliminated and became the first member of the jury.

Next time on Survivor…

Jeff unleashes “another twist” with “double the consequences.”

Heading into the seventh episode of Survivor 50, three tribes turned into one when 17 players unexpectedly merged…

[29
283,93,61,60,10796,10531,282
0":"post-389305","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tv","8":"tag-cbs","9":"tag-entertainment","10":"tag-ie","11":"tag-ireland","12":"tag-reality-tv","13":"tag-survivor","14":"tag-tv
["GET
