IT HAS been confirmed that service stations in parts of County Limerick have run out of fuel amid the ongoing fuel crisis protests.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Among those affected is\u00a0Applegreen at Coolanoran<\/a> in Newcastle West, which no longer has petrol or diesel. It is understood that the store was to receive a delivery today, April 9, which did not arrive due to the roads being blocked.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Currently, Snow’s Country Store, located at Glenwillian in Ballingarry, does have petrol but no diesel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Queues of cars have also formed at forecourts throughout Limerick, with both Circle K in Thomondgate and Circle K in Caherdavin experiencing high volumes of customers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A number of vehicles were seen queueing outside Texaco in Newcastle West, as pictured below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Virgin Media News have reported that some service stations have even introduced limits on fuel sales. According to the outlet, at a station in Glin, customers have been restricted to no more than 25 litres each. It was said that more than 60 cars are waiting to access pumps.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are also reports that the fuel pumps in the service station in Ballyneety village are no longer active.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The fuel depot in Foynes has been blocked by protestors for some time now. Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast this morning, April 9, Fuels for Ireland CEO Kevin McPartlan warned that 50% of homes and businesses in Ireland will not have access to fuel if the blockade of depots continues.\u00a0<\/p>\n
