Idris Elba<\/a> has been busy the last few years starring in projects like A House of Dynamite (starring Rebecca Ferguson<\/a>) and Hijack, but it\u2019s not set to slow down anytime soon. Elba will headline one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer with Masters of the Universe<\/a>, which is coming to theaters on June 5. He\u2019s been tapped to play the Master-at-Arms in the film, alongside Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Morena Baccarin<\/a> as The Sorceress, Alison Brie<\/a> as Evil-Lyn, and Jared Leto<\/a> as Skeletor. News also broke yesterday that Elba will officially return to star<\/a> alongside Chris Hemsworth<\/a> in the third and possibly final Extraction<\/a> movie on Netflix. Extraction 3 does not yet have a release date, but the project will begin filming this summer and could be released as soon as next year.<\/p>\n

However, Elba is busy beyond even 2026, and he\u2019s already attached to star in several projects to be released in 2027 and beyond. He will begin the year by starring in Children of Blood and Bone<\/a>, the fantasy adaptation that has been officially set for release on January 15, 2027. The official Children of Blood and Bone X account shared this news with a short promotional teaser, and the first trailer for the film is expected to be released sometime over the summer. In addition to Elba, who stars in one of the key roles of Lekan, Children of Blood and Bone also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor<\/a> as King Sara, Viola Davis<\/a> as Mama Agba, Cynthia Erivo<\/a> as Admiral Kaea, Lashana Lynch<\/a> as Jumoke, Regina King<\/a> as Queen Nehanda, Damson Idris<\/a> as Inan, Amandla Stenberg<\/a> as Amari, and more.<\/p>\n
