Foo Fighters<\/a> have shared another new single, \u2018Of All People\u2019. Listen below.<\/p>\n

The track is the fourth preview of Dave Grohl<\/a>\u00a0and co\u2019s 12th studio album,\u00a0\u2018Your Favorite Toy\u2019<\/a>, which is out on April 24 via Roswell Records\/Columbia. It follows last year\u2019s \u2018Asking For A Friend\u2019<\/a>, the record\u2019s title track<\/a> and \u2018Caught In The Echo\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Of All People\u2019 was showcased live during the Foos\u2019\u00a0recent run of intimate UK and Ireland shows<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Dublin<\/a>,\u00a0London<\/a> and Manchester, as well as at their tiny \u2018Live At St James\u2019 Church\u2019 gig<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf all people, you survived \/When no one else could stay alive\/ You know you should be dead\/ But you\u2019re alive instead\/ Of all people, you survived,\u201d Grohl sings in the thrashing, uptempo first verse, as he questions the unpredictable and unfair rules of life and mortality.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter how fuckin hard you tried\/ You know you should be dead\/ But you\u2019re alive instead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, Grohl recalls how he thought he\u2019d \u201cseen a ghost\u201d in the punk-influenced cut, adding: \u201cA memory that I had prayed I\u2019d finally lost\/ And you live happily ever after?\/ How can you live happily ever after?\/ Oh no.\u201d Another line hears him remember an emotional moment: \u201cI heard your voice today\/ And then I stopped to cry.\u201d<\/p>\n

During an in interview with The Guardian<\/a> in March, Grohl revealed that he wrote \u2018Of All People\u2019 \u201cafter bumping into a drug dealer from the 90s that was getting everyone fucked up on heroin\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hadn\u2019t seen them in 30 years, and they\u2019re alive, healthy and sober,\u201d he went on. \u201cI was so happy that this person survived, while at the same time, I was devastated, because of all of the people I know that we\u2019ve lost to exactly that drug.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grohl continued: \u201cI was so fucking angry, but at the same time so grateful to see them alive and well. Again, a conversation within myself, feeling so conflicted and divided. When I read the lyrics back, I mentioned them to my therapist: is this survivor\u2019s guilt?\u201d<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters are set to head out on their European \u2018Take Cover\u2019 tour this summer<\/a>, including two shows at Anfield stadium in Liverpool (find any remaining tickets here<\/a>). Their European festival dates feature stops at Mad Cool<\/a>,\u00a0Nos Alive<\/a>,\u00a0Pinkpop<\/a>\u00a0and more.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll play some\u00a0North American dates over the summer and autumn<\/a>, too, and have announced\u00a0an Australia and New Zealand leg for 2026 and 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Grohl revealed that Foos\u2019 forthcoming album was filled with \u201cuptempo\u201d and \u201cnoisy, loud bangers\u201d that feel like they\u2019re from \u201cthe old days\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking later, Grohl was reminded that\u00a0The Beatles<\/a>\u00a0came to an end after their 12th LP, \u2018Let It Be\u2019, and went on to explain that\u00a0he wasn\u2019t sure about when the Foos would release their final record<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery record has been our last record,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, I kind of feel like at this point you just kind of \u2013 you make a record and you go, \u2018OK, well, let\u2019s do it again and let\u2019s see what happens\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave the \u2018Your Favorite Toy\u2019 title track a four-star review<\/a>, hailing it as a \u201cfutureproof rock beast\u201d that is \u201csnarlingly unapologetic\u201d. The new album follows 2023\u2019s \u2018But Here We Are\u2019<\/a>, and is the band\u2019s first with\u00a0new drummer Ilan Rubin<\/a>, who\u00a0replaced Josh Freese<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Grohl has said the death of former drummer Taylor Hawkins \u201cmade me question everything about life\u201d<\/a>, admitting: \u201cI still have a hard time making sense of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019d previously\u00a0opened up about the \u201ccomplicated\u201d journey to find a new drummer following Hawkins\u2019 passing<\/a>. More recently, Rubin has addressed the \u2018drummer swap\u2019 between\u00a0Foo Fighters<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nine Inch Nails<\/a>, saying it was \u201can obvious great fit\u201d. The Foos have also said the line-up change was a \u201cdecision that was best for all parties\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n
