A warning has been issued to Irish shoppers as a popular ready meal sold in Lidl<\/a> supermarkets across Ireland was pulled from shelves over safety fears.<\/p>\n The Food Safety Authority of Ireland<\/a> (FSAI) announced on Friday (April 10) that Lidl is carrying out a recall<\/a> of certain batches of Chef Select Carbonara Pasta Bake, size 1kg, sold in its stores last month.<\/p>\n The recall is being carried out as a small part of a batch of Chef Select Carbonara Pasta Bake sold in March did not have a use-by date on the packs. The correct use-by date for the implicated batch is 09.04.2026.<\/p>\n The food safety watchdog said recall notices will be displayed in Lidl stores as they urged consumers ‘not to eat’ the implicated batch.<\/p>\n The item does not have a use by date displayed on its packaging<\/p>\n Lidl has issued an apology in relation to the recall and urged shoppers who purchased an implicated batch to return it to their nearest store for a full refund.<\/p>\n A Lidl spokesperson said: “Lidl Ireland is recalling the above Chef Select Carbonara Pasta Bake due to some units having no use-by date printed on the pack. The actual use-by date that should be on pack is 09.04.26.<\/p>\n “If you have purchased the above and it has no use-by date please,do not consume it. Instead, please return the product to a Lidl store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.<\/p>\n “Lidl wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”<\/p>\n Any customers with queries or concerns can contact th Lidl Customer Services Team at 01 920 3010.<\/p>\n This latest recall comes less than 24 hours after a popular dessert sold in Tesco<\/a> supermarkets across Ireland was pulled from shelves<\/a> over fears it may contain plastic pieces.<\/p>\n The FSAI announced on Thursday that Tesco is carrying out a recall of its Tesco Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert.<\/p>\n The recall has been issued over concerns that certain batches of the popular \u20ac14 dessert may contain small pieces of clear plastic from the packaging which may make the product unsafe to eat.<\/p>\n Anyone who has purchased the implicated dessert is being asked to return them to their nearest Tesco store for a full refund.
