RT\u00c9 sports presenter Valerie Wheeler has confirmed she is expecting her first child with husband Gavin Young.<\/p>\n

The happy news comes seven months on from the couple’s dream wedding in Portugal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Sunday Game host and her husband, announced their baby news by saying this is a ‘new chapter we\u2019ve been dreaming of.’<\/p>\n

Posting a snap of themselves in the Maldives, during their honeymoon, the soon-to-be mum-and-dad shared beaming smiles as they hold up their scan photos.<\/p>\n

In front of them in the sand, the couple, wrote out \u2018baby Young 2026\u2019.<\/p>\n

It is the first child for the couple who said \u201cI do\u201d in a sun-drenched ceremony in Portugal last year.<\/p>\n

Joking she had found her ‘forever caddy’, Valerie shared a glimpse inside the couple’s stunning destination wedding on social media last year.<\/p>\n

Her long-term partner Gavin Young popped the question while the couple enjoyed a romantic holiday in New York<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

Gavin popped the question on top of the Rockefeller Center, where Valerie shared a snap of her sparkling ring with the caption: \u201cA rock on top of the rock. 03-01-2024.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valerie and Gavin have been together since the summer of 2022.<\/p>\n

Valerie Wheeler joined RTE<\/a> as a sports reporter in October 2020.<\/p>\n

She is well known to sports fans for her coverage on The Sunday Game and as a presenter on SPIN Southwest, while Gavin works as a professional golf coach in Limerick<\/a>.<\/p>\n
