Cedarglade Ltd, trading as SuperValu on Aston Quay in Dublin, received two notices for failing to display correct prices.<\/p>\n

Corajio Unlimited Company, trading as Mr Price, was issued six notices for failing to display unit prices on certain products in stores in Midleton, Co Cork and Killarney, Co Kerry.<\/p>\n

Petrogas Group Ltd, trading as Applegreen in Athlone, Co Westmeath, received one notice for failing to display the price of a product in its forecourt shop.<\/p>\n

Each notice carries a fixed fine of \u20ac300 and relates to breaches of pricing rules, including missing or incorrect price displays and failure to show unit pricing, the CCPC said.<\/p>\n

The notices form part of 15 enforcement actions published by the CCPC following inspections and investigations.<\/p>\n

Separately, three retailers entered into legally binding undertakings with the regulator following investigations into sales pricing practices during the 2023 and 2024 winter sales period.<\/p>\n

Rath-Wood Home and Garden World Ltd, trading as Rathwood, agreed to refund certain consumers. Ofwal Ltd, trading as Easons.com, and Shop Direct Ireland Ltd, trading as Very, also agreed to comply with sales pricing legislation following investigations into how price reductions were presented on their websites.<\/p>\n

The CCPC also issued compliance notices to two retailers in relation to consumer rights information on their websites.<\/p>\n

Phoenix Mobile and Communications Ltd, trading as Munster Tech Centre, received two compliance notices for information that could mislead consumers about their statutory cancellation rights. Hot Fox Ltd, trading as CocoBoutique, was issued one compliance notice for similar issues.<\/p>\n

A compliance notice requires a trader to stop a prohibited practice and comply with the law by a specified date. Failure to do so can lead to prosecution.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsumers have very strong rights and the CCPC is here to uphold them,\u201d said Brian McHugh, CCPC chairperson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese latest enforcement updates arise from CCPC inspections of supermarkets, petrol stations and other retailers, as well as investigations opened on the back of consumer complaints to our helpline.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to our regular in-store and online inspections and ongoing investigations, CCPC officers are closely monitoring trader compliance with the legally binding commitments published today.
