The club increased green fees to \u20ac375 for visitors to play a round of golf at its Old Course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">An increase of 20 per cent has been applied for this year. From April 27th to October 16th, green fees for visitors will rise to \u20ac450 for a round at the Old Course. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In 2023, the green fee was just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/business\/2023\/04\/11\/lahinch-golf-club-posts-record-surplus\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/business\/2023\/04\/11\/lahinch-golf-club-posts-record-surplus\/\">\u20ac275<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In his report to members, chair Brian Hanly said 2025 \u201cproduced another set of strong financial results\u201d with actual figures coming in ahead of budget. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The club\u2019s overall income increased by 20 per cent from \u20ac5.4 million to \u20ac6.5 million \u201cmainly due to an increase in the green fee rate\u201d that was applied. Income from green fees made up 65 per cent of the club\u2019s overall revenue. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-it-article-body__interstitial-link\">[\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Open related story\" class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/business\/2024\/08\/30\/lahinch-golf-clubs-6m-redevelopment-in-full-swing\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lahinch Golf Club\u2019s \u20ac6m redevelopment in full swing amid healthy financesOpens in new window<\/a>\u00a0]<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In a bumper year for the club, its golf shop generated revenue of \u20ac1.6 million, up 18 per cent on 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">After taking into account non-cash depreciation costs of \u20ac1.06 million, the golf club recorded a surplus of \u20ac1.55 million \u2013 double the \u20ac752,712 level of 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">US golfers usually make up a sizeable chunk of the green fee income at Lahinch. In his report, Hanly stated that hosting the Walker Cup (a team event involving the best amateurs from Britain and Ireland versus the United States) match at the Clare venue on September 5th and 6th next would result in a loss of green fee revenue of about \u20ac600,000 for 2026. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Hanly said that \u201cwhile the green fee has increased in line with all other marquee golf clubs, we are hoping to keep green fee income at around the same level as last year\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">He said the Lahinch Golf Club council was \u201calready looking at the numbers for 2027 and in line with our peer clubs, a further increase in the green fee rate will apply\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">At the end of December last, the club\u2019s total funds amounted to \u20ac12.3 million while its cash funds increased from \u20ac3.8 million to \u20ac4.6 million.
