Casualty has confirmed the result of Holby ED\u2019s all-important final inspection<\/a> in today\u2019s episode. After previous safety review failures, inspector Ceri assesses the department once more to determine its future. But members of the team are struggling, and someone makes a big decision\u2026<\/p>\n

Kim arrived at work on the day of the inspection feeling under the weather, after starting to secretly use weight loss injections<\/a> as her eating disorder worsens. Flynn warned the team that if they fail this inspection, funding will be slashed and jobs will be cut.<\/p>\n

After Rida noticed that Flynn and Siobhan had written resignation letters, the clinical lead welcomed Ceri<\/a> as a major incident arrived at the ED.<\/p>\n

Ceri was initially impressed by the improvements that had been made since her last visit. But Kim continued to struggle with blurred vision, and as she took a patient\u2019s blood, her handwriting was illegible.<\/p>\n

Matty noticed this and corrected his colleague\u2019s mistake<\/a>, but the blood had to be retaken as a result because edits can\u2019t be made to the forms. Ceri flagged this error and wasn\u2019t happy, so Stevie scolded her mentee Kim.<\/p>\n

Upset, Kim rushed to the bathroom and Matty followed, desperate for her to get help for her eating disorder<\/a>. Kim agreed that he could get her a referral to the specialist clinic after the inspection \u2013 but after Matty left, she injected another dose of the weight loss drug.<\/p>\n

Under Ceri\u2019s watchful eye, Kim followed her instincts with a patient and made a startling discovery. She went against Stevie\u2019s orders and confidently carried out a complex procedure, and her mentor was impressed when she completed it successfully.<\/p>\n

However, Kim then had to run to the toilets again, and in a distressing scene, she discovered she had vomited blood.<\/p>\n

Later, Dylan told Ceri that things will never be perfect in an ED under pressure and reminded her that she can\u2019t make up for mistakes made while she was on the frontline during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Flynn told the team that they had thankfully passed the inspection, and Siobhan arrived back at the ED<\/a> to celebrate the good news with her colleagues.<\/p>\n

But Stevie found Kim packing up her belongings, and she told her shocked mentor that she was withdrawing from the rotation, conceding that she wasn\u2019t cut out for emergency medicine.<\/p>\n

Kim broke the news to Matty that she was leaving and promised to keep in touch, assuring him that she was going to get help. As she binned her weight loss injections and left the ED, will this mark a fresh start for Kim?<\/p>\n
