\n\tOlivia Rodrigo<\/a> fans just got their first sip of the pop star\u2019s highly anticipated new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo shared a snippet of her upcoming project\u2019s lead single, \u201cDrop Dead,\u201d on Instagram Thursday (April 9). She didn\u2019t offer any vocals in the clip \u2014 except for a breath she takes right before the track cuts off \u2014 but the portion of the song on display features a mix of fluttery, percussive synths, which play over a clip of the Grammy winner sitting at a pub.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI hope you never finish that beer,\u201d reads pink text over the video.<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo\u2019s face is out of frame, but on her coat, a button reading the phrase \u201csuper sweet\u201d is visible. On the table in front of her are three glasses of Guinness, one of which she takes a drink from after a laugh.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDrop Dead\u201d is slated to arrive on April 17, as recently revealed<\/a> by the hitmaker. It will lead the way for You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love to arrive in June, marking Rodrigo\u2019s third studio album and her first since 2023\u2019s Guts topped the Billboard 200<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tShe\u2019s been open about how the LP \u2014 true to its title \u2014 is full of love songs that are also sad by nature. \u201cI realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them,\u201d she explained <\/a>to British Vogue in March. \u201cFalling in love, [I thought] that the second I\u2019m in a really great relationship, I\u2019m gonna start feeling good about myself, and this stuff is going to fall into place. But it just doesn\u2019t work like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo was most recently linked to British actor Louis Partridge, of whom she\u2019s shared a number of photos<\/a> with in pubs drinking a Guinness. Partridge also starred in Netflix\u2019s House of Guinness last year.<\/p>\n
