Alejandro Garnacho has shed new light on the circumstances behind the end to his Manchester United<\/a> career, admitting he was partly responsible for things turning sour at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n The winger, 21, had established himself as one of the club’s most exciting young players before a dramatic fall from grace at the club he joined as a teenager back in 2020. He was frozen out by Ruben Amorim<\/a> after a fallout with the former Red Devils head coach as it became clear that his days in Manchester were numbered.<\/p>\n A protracted \u00a340million transfer to Chelsea<\/a> was completed back in the summer and, speaking back in December, Garnacho<\/a> went on to insist he had no regrets over how things ended at United<\/a>, saying: “Sometimes in life, you have to change things to take a step forward or to improve as a player.<\/p>\n “This was the right club and [moving] was an easy decision.”<\/p>\n READ MORE: Man Utd transfer twist as Nico Schlotterbeck new deal agreed with release clause change<\/a>READ MORE: David De Gea delivers clear Michael Carrick verdict with ‘unbelievable’ Man Utd claim<\/a><\/p>\n But four months on, the Blues attacker changed his tune while discussing his final months as a Manchester United player.<\/p>\n Speaking to Premier League<\/a> Productions, he said: “I remember in the last six months I was just not playing like before at Manchester United. I started to be on the bench, it’s not [a] bad thing, I was only 20 years old, but in my mind it was like I had to play every game.<\/p>\n “In my mind, maybe it is also on me, I started to do some bad things. But yes, it was just this moment in life and sometimes you have to make decisions and I am really proud to be here and still in the Premier League at a club like this.”<\/p>\n Garnacho was frozen out at Manchester United by Ruben Amorim(Image: AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n When he was asked if his Old Trafford exit hurt, the Argentina star replied: “Yeah, maybe yes, because I loved that club, you know? They gave me the confidence from the start, from Spain, to bring me to the academy, then they bring me to the first team, so it was like four or five years, and amazing love from everyone, from the fans, the stadium, everything was really good.<\/p>\n “It’s just sometimes you have to change for the good of your life or the next steps.
