A Dublin food reviewer took the three-hour drive down to Cork to continue his hunt for the country’s best roast dinner but his visit was not as memorable as previous ones\"Paul<\/p>\n

A food<\/a> reviewer who has travelled all over Ireland trying to find the country\u2019s best roast dinner <\/a>returned to Cork \u2014 but his three-hour drive from Dublin did not go as planned.<\/p>\n

The content creator, known online as Paul_IsItWorthIt, previously visited Murphy\u2019s Rock Bar in Ballincolly \u2014 and he gave it an impressive 7.7 out of 10 rating.<\/p>\n

He recently returned to the Rebel County after his comments were flooded with suggestions to try The Elm Tree Glounthaune. Unfortunately, he found it was closed for a funeral on the day he came so decided to try out The Wilton Pub and Restaurant instead, and his early impressions were good.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hunt for the best roast dinner in Ireland continues, today we are at The Wilton,\u201d Paul said at the start of his video, before adding: \u201cThe service has been fantastic so far. I love the words they use in Cork \u2014 they got like love, honey.\u201d<\/p>\n

And before getting into his food review, Paul commented: \u201cJust a little on this place. This place, it looks so old school. There\u2019s such cool things here like a Cornflakes box there. You\u2019ve got a U2 guitar that\u2019s signed beside us here on the walls. As a pub to come to, it\u2019s so cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cameraman John later added: \u201cI\u2019m like a broken record, but it does look like a top spot when a match is on.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, with a reputation as \u201cIreland\u2019s most honest food reviewer\u201d, Paul\u2019s visit was predominantly about the roast dinner.<\/p>\n

When his beef arrived, he said visually it looked \u201cunreal\u201d and the gravy appeared top quality.<\/p>\n

And as for the latter, he said: \u201cThe gravy is phenomenal. The mash is delicious. The gravy is smooth and silky. Beautiful mash. The gravy is 100% cooked with the juices off the meat, 100%.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being sold by the mash and gravy, he was disappointed in the meat and the roast potatoes, while saying the vegetables were too hard for his preference.<\/p>\n

However, during the meal, he said: \u201cWe do love Cork, don\u2019t we?\u201d<\/p>\n

Cameraman John answered to say they had been to some top food spots in Cork before Paul declared it the \u201cfood capital of Ireland\u201d.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Paul was unable to finish his meal, saying \u201cit\u2019s not impressing me\u201d, and he summarised his feelings outside after paying the bill.<\/p>\n

And reflecting on the prices, he said: \u201cThe roast beef dinner is \u20ac19.99 and for two Lucozades it is \u20ac8.40. It is \u20ac4.20 for a Lucozade? Jesus man, it is so expensive for soft drinks in pubs.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe price, \u20ac19.99 for a roast dinner? That\u2019s expensive. I\u2019m giving it four out of 10 for the price.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, as for the service, he said: \u201cShoutout to Lisa in there, our server, she was the best part of our experience, 100%. Lovely woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe experience I\u2019m giving a nine out of 10, simply for Lisa, and then the pub is actually really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

But he gave a lower score regarding the taste of the food, and claimed the roast spuds were too hard and that the beef was dry.<\/p>\n

However, he added: \u201cWe are here at three-o-clock. I need to stress again. Maybe this is fantastic a few hours earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n
