Walker Scobell, who stars in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, is only 17. His prom is coming up soon, but on April 12, he posted on his Instagram Stories to reveal he will not be attending. He claimed he\u2019s skipping the big night because all of his prospective dates have received death threats from fans.<\/p>\n

He wrote, \u201cJust to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom. Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live. It\u2019s not fair to them or to their families. Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That\u2019s just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this.\u201d<\/p>\n

When speaking about the popularity of the show with USA Today<\/a> last year, he said, \u201cI knew it was Percy Jackson and if there were a lot of people that loved it just as much as I did then I thought, \u2018Yeah, maybe it would get pretty big.\u2019 But I didn\u2019t think it would be this big so fast. It kind of just immediately became such a big thing and it started affecting my life right away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scobell, who was born in Virginia, made his professional acting debut when he was only 13. He appeared in The Adam Project with Ryan Reynolds and Secret Headquarters with Owen Wilson in 2022. In 2023, he appeared in the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, where he plays the son of Poseidon.<\/p>\n

In the television show, which was adapted from the hit Rick Riordan series, he stars alongside Leah Sava\u2019 Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer, and Glynn Turman. The show follows Percy and his friends learning to harness their powers.
