A case involving a bus driver, who is charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of two teenagers who were travelling on an e-scooter in Waterford almost two years ago, has been further adjourned.<\/p>\n
The collision, which occurred on the Cork Road in Waterford city in the early hours of 27 June 2024, resulted in the deaths of Gilbert Collins and Avuzwa Idris.<\/p>\n
The teenagers were aged 15 and 17, respectively, when the collision between the bus and the e-scooter took place.<\/p>\n
Adrian Doyle of Ard Glas, Abbey Road, Ferrybank, Co Waterford, was last year charged in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n
Today, Mr Doyle’s defence counsel, Gareth Hayden BL, told Judge Eugene O’Kelly that the trial is not yet ready to commence.<\/p>\n
The case will be back before Waterford Circuit Court on 3 June for mention.<\/p>\n
