Scarlett Faulkner will be laid to rest this Friday, her devastated family have announced.<\/p>\n

Heartbreaking tributes continue to pour in for 29-year-old mum-of-one, who sadly passed away in hospital on Monday after weeks fighting for her life following a violent roadside assault.<\/p>\n

Scarlett died surrounded by her loving family. She had been on life support at Cork University Hospital for the past three weeks after suffering catastrophic injuries in a roadside attack on the R494 near Birdhill on March 21.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Scarlett\u2019s heartbroken sister-in-law, Josephine Duffy revealed switching off the life support machine had been delayed as medics and the family anxiously await the outcome of the final assessment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a deeply emotional update on Monday morning, Josephine confirmed the life support machine was turned off at approximately 4pm on Sunday, with five relatives allowed to remain in the hospital to stay by her side through the night. On Monday evening, Scarlett’s family and Garda\u00ed confirmed the Limerick mum had passed away<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, Scarlett\u2019s adoring cousin, Melissa McCarthy, has shared on social media that her beloved relation will be laid to rest this Friday following a funeral mass at St. Munchin\u2019s Church in Limerick city.<\/p>\n

Scarlett will lay in repose at Crosses Funeral Home in Limerick on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm. Her funeral mass will take place on Friday at St. Munchin\u2019s Church, Limerick at 11am, followed by burial in Meelick Cemetery.<\/p>\n

A woman and a 16-year-old girl have been charged in connection with the assault. Neither can be identified. The teenager is charged with assault causing serious harm to Scarlett. The woman faces four charges, including violent disorder, reckless endangerment, and two counts of burglary during what the court previously heard was 24 hours of serious violent offences.<\/p>\n
