Katie McCabe is keen for the Republic of Ireland to build on the crucial victory in Gdansk when they meet Poland again this Saturday at Aviva Stadium.<\/p>\n

So we just need to build off this performance again and work towards Saturday and we hope the fans can come out in numbers to support us in the Aviva.”<\/p>\n After defeats to France and the Netherlands in their first two qualifiers last month, the win in Poland provides the first big points haul for Ireland in this campaign.<\/p>\n McCabe said the approach had been to respect their opponents but also look to impose themselves on the game.<\/p>\n “It was all about the three points. Obviously the first two games were really tough against France and Netherlands and we were close and didn’t quite get over the line,” she said.<\/p>\n “We knew Poland are a fantastic team. So it was really important for us to get control of the ball and I think we did that really well.”<\/p>\n \n On her sweetly struck volley from the edge of the box, the captain was keen to deflect praise towards the collective.<\/p>\n “We’ve got a lot of threat from our set pieces so second phase of corners is really important and me and (Marissa Sheva) were just hugging the box and to be honest, I’m more disappointed about the pen I missed.
