Scarlett, from the northside of Limerick city, passed away in Cork University Hospital on Monday after the decision was made on Sunday to take her off a life support machine.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old mum-of-one, from Longpavement, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family who had maintained a bedside vigil the following day.<\/p>\n
Fr Pat Hogan said the Faulkner family are \u201cdeeply upset.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want to just lay her to rest in peace and with dignity so this is their hope,\u201d Fr Hogan told RT\u00c9 Radio 1.<\/p>\n
Fr Hogan, of Moyross parish, is chaplain to the Traveller community. He was with the Faulkner family on Monday night, and said the family shared memories of mum-of-one Scarlett.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want to remember her in peace, and they want to kind of maybe separate her from the violence that happened to her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scarlett will repose at Cross\u2019s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick city on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm.<\/p>\n
Her funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 11am in St Munchin\u2019s Church, Clancy Strand. Scarlett will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery following the Mass.<\/p>\n
Scarlett\u2019s sister Victoria has paid an emotional tribute to the young Limerick mother, saying that she doesn\u2019t know how she will live without her.<\/p>\n
Taking to social media, Victoria Faulkner described Scarlett as her \u201cbest friend and big sister\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll cherish our memories forever. My last hug and kiss off you. I promise you sister I\u2019ll bring Oceanna (Scarlett\u2019s daughter) to see you every day. I\u2019ll do everything for her just like you\u2019d want,\u201d said Victoria.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love you with all my heart and soul. I can\u2019t explain the way I feel right now knowing I\u2019ll never see you walk in the door to me and sit down… I miss you every minute of the day, you will always be my best friend and big sister.<\/p>\n
A message posted by Joanne Duffy, partner of Scarlett Faulkner\u2019s brother, Thomas Faulkner, said: \u201cWhat a warrior, RIP my beautiful sister in law.\u201d<\/p>\n
A friend said in reply: \u201cRIP Beautiful Angel\u201d.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said their investigation into Scarlett Faulkner\u2019s assault and subsequent death was \u201congoing\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Coroner has been notified. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course,\u201d said a Garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n
\u201cA Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the family of the deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs two persons are currently charged before the courts, An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na is not making any further comment.\u201d<\/p>\n
A 16-year-old girl is before the courts charged with assault causing serious harm to Ms Faulkner on March 21.<\/p>\n
A 40-year-old woman is charged with endangerment, violent disorder as well as burglary, arising out of the garda investigation into the alleged assault on Ms Faulkner.<\/p>\n
The girl and the woman cannot be identified by order of a District Court judge.<\/p>\n
