{"id":399753,"date":"2026-04-15T13:05:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/399753\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T13:05:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:05:08","slug":"freddie-thompson-prison-assault-trial-set-for-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/399753\/","title":{"rendered":"Freddie Thompson prison assault trial set for November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Freddie Thompson will go on trial in November for assault and threats to kill.<\/p>\n<p>Thomspon, 44, is charged with three separate offences including assault causing harm and two allegations of making threats to kill in Portlaoise Prison on separate dates in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>He appeared via video link before Mullingar Circuit Court.<\/p>\n<p>Cathal \u00d3 Braon\u00e1in BL, appearing for the prosecution, stated that the matter had been adjourned for inquiries into disclosure and that no further disclosure issues arise.<\/p>\n<p>He said that it was simply matter to fix a trial date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I understand 19 November is available in Tullamore Circuit Court, and I would ask that you make the witness and exhibits order,&#8221; Mr \u00d3 Braon\u00e1in said.<\/p>\n<p>The defence agreed that was the position.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Keenan Johnson adjourned the case for trial on 19 November and granted the witness and exhibits order, along with a production order.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Freddie Thompson will go on trial in November for assault and threats to kill.
