Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller has listed Kilkenny<\/a> amongst its \u20187 Wonders of Ireland for 2026\u2019.<\/p>\n

The primary reason for the county\u2019s inclusion is its culture, from buzzing city<\/a> events to rural history, heritage and craft.<\/p>\n

Author Grainne McBride gave special mention to Kilkenny\u2019s penchant for hosting successful festivals including Cat Laughs<\/a> and Kilkenomics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also mentioned was the county\u2019s cultural heritage with 12th Century Jerpoint Abbey namechecked as well as nearby Jerpoint Glass Studio.<\/p>\n

Also included on the list were Waterford\u2019s Copper Coast and Greenway, The Burren, Ring of Beara, Northwest Donegal, Fermanagh Lakelands and The Passage Tombs of the Ancient East.<\/p>\n

All of the locations listed are described as being the \u2018less instantly recognisable places to visit\u2019 that are all \u2018worth shouting about\u2019.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time that Kilkenny<\/a> has been recommended by the prestigious travel publication.<\/p>\n

Back in 2013, readers of Cond\u00e9 Nast voted Kilkenny<\/a> as the ninth friendliest city in the world.<\/p>\n

One reader wrote about Kilkenny<\/a> that \u201cpeople were always greeting you\u201d.<\/p>\n

Another praised the city as having \u201ccharming\u201d locals who were clearly \u201cproud folks who want you to sample their best.\u201d<\/p>\n
