One of Donegal\u2019s most famous cafes will remain open despite the popular owners calling it a day after almost 25 years in business.<\/p>\n
Leo and Linda Porter, of Leo\u2019s Cafe in Burnfoot, hung up their aprons last night for the final time. However, they also confirmed that the thriving eatery has been \u2018already leased\u2019. The couple can now finally enjoy their much deserved retirement.<\/p>\n
\u201cTonight is our last night. After 24 incredible years, the time has come for us to close this chapter and step into retirement,\u201d they posted on their Facebook page.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cLeo\u2019s Caf\u00e9 has been so much more than just a business \u2014 it\u2019s been a community, a meeting place, and a huge part of our lives. We feel truly grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and connect with so many wonderful people over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n
They also paid tribute to all their \u2018amazing staff, past and present\u2019 who \u201chelped make Leo\u2019s what it is, and we couldn\u2019t have done it without you.\u201d<\/p>\n
They added: \u201cTo our loyal customers \u2014 thank you for your continued support, your conversations, and for making every day worthwhile. Many of you became more like friends than customers. And to the local businesses and community \u2014 thank you for your support, collaboration, and kindness throughout the years.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not easy to say goodbye, but we leave with full hearts and so many great memories. Thank you all for being part of this journey. With sincere gratitude, Leo & Linda.\u201d<\/p>\n
