{"id":400004,"date":"2026-04-15T16:25:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T16:25:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/400004\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T16:25:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T16:25:16","slug":"nvidia-unveils-open-source-quantum-ai-model-ising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/400004\/","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia unveils open-source quantum AI model Ising"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ising models are designed to help perform quantum error correction and calibration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nvidia has announced a new family of open-source quantum AI models on World Quantum Day (14 April).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Ising\u2019, the \u201cworld\u2019s first\u201d open models for building quantum processors, joins a growing list of Nvidia open-source models including \u2018<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconrepublic.com\/machines\/nvidia-ai-autonomous-vehicle-technology-artificial-intelligence-alpamayo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Alpamayo<\/a>\u2019 for autonomous vehicles, \u2018Nemotron\u2019 for agentic systems and \u2018Cosmos\u2019 for physical AI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ising models are designed to help researchers and enterprises perform quantum error correction and calibration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The family includes Ising Calibration, a vision language model that can interpret and react to measurements from quantum processors, and Ising Decoding, two variants of a 3D convolutional neural network model that can perform real-time decoding for quantum error correction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ising Decoding can deliver up to two and a half-times faster performance and three-times higher accuracy than current open-source industry standards, Nvidia said. The models are available for download on GitHub, Hugging Face and Nvidia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ising models are already in use at the Harvard John A Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconrepublic.com\/start-ups\/quantum-computing-company-iqm-fuel-rd-investment-development\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IQM Quantum Computers<\/a>, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory\u2019s Advanced Quantum Testbed, the UK National Physical Laboratory and the University of California San Diego, as well as a list of other prominent names disclosed by the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAI is essential to making quantum computing practical,\u201d said Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of Nvidia. \u201cWith Ising, AI becomes the control plane \u2013 the operating system of quantum machines \u2013 transforming fragile qubits to scalable and reliable quantum GPU systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ising joins other Nvidia quantum-specific products, including the CUDA-Q quantum software platform, and the NVQ Link that connects GPU computing with quantum processors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconrepublic.com\/start-ups\/french-quantum-start-up-pasqal-raises-e340m-plans-dual-public-listings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">major funding rounds<\/a>, and a strong <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconrepublic.com\/machines\/tyndall-national-institute-ireland-e50m-eu-quantum-pilot-p4q\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">focus on research and development<\/a>, the quantum sector is expected grow to more than $11bn in value by 2030.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Ireland, home-grown start-up Equal1, which announced a $60m round in January, is working towards <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconrepublic.com\/machines\/equal1-partners-with-q-ctrl-for-quantum-data-centre-deployment-ai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">bringing its rack-mounted quantum processing units to the enterprise market<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t miss out on the knowledge you need to succeed.
