The Minister for Finance, Simon Harris has said that Ireland’s economy “is in good shape”.<\/p>\n
It comes as the T\u00e1naiste announced the reduction on excise duty on fuel, which cuts the price of petrol and diesel by 10 cent per litre.<\/p>\n
The measures came in this morning, as a response to rising fuel costs driven by the war in Iran.<\/p>\n
The cuts bring the total tax reductions on fuel to 32 cent per litre on diesel and 27 cent per litre on petrol since the crisis began.<\/p>\n
According to Simon Harris, no government in the world can insulate from all of the challenges that a war presents.<\/p>\n
The T\u00e1naiste said: “I’m really conscious it is a tough time for people. Due to the war in Iran,\u00a0 people have seen a real rise in costs and a spike in fuel costs.<\/p>\n
“We’ve got to work together to get through this. Our economy is in good shape. No government in the world can insulate from all of the challenges that a war presents.<\/p>\n
