Pictures)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/00243919-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nDirector Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu told CinemaCon that the Digger role &#8220;could possibly be the most challenging&#8221; for Tom Cruise<\/p>\n<p>But the event did not address rival Paramount Skydance&#8217;s mega-bid for the legacy studio, which has sent ripples of concern through an industry wary of consolidation and fearful for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Pins bearing the slogan &#8220;#BlockTheMerger&#8221; were spotted being distributed throughout Caesars Palace, where the cinema trade show is taking place.<\/p>\n<p>An open letter opposing the merger was co-signed by hundreds of Hollywood stars and filmmakers, including Denis Villeneuve and JJ Abrams &#8211; both of whom showcased upcoming releases during the Warner Bros event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock arrive at the CinemaCon 2026 - Warner Bros. (Photo by Mindy Small\/WireImage)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/00243916-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nNicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock were in attendance to promote Practical Magic 2<\/p>\n<p>Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca, co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros Motion Pictures Group, recapped achievements from the past year and emphasised the uptick in film productions from six in 2022, when they took over, to 11 last year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That is what committing to originality can get you,&#8221; Abdy said.<\/p>\n<p>De Luca promised 14 releases this year, adding that the studio is aiming for 18 in 2027.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"(L-R) Jason Momoa, Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Zendaya, and Denis Villeneuve promote the upcoming film Dune: Part Three at the Warner Bros. (Photo by Ethan Miller\/Getty Images)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/0024391a-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n(L-R) Dune: Part Three stars Jason Momoa, Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Zendaya, and director Denis Villeneuve<\/p>\n<p>The presentation included footage from Dune: Part Three, introduced by director Villeneuve alongside stars Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa.<\/p>\n<p>Other previews included Practical Magic 2, starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, The Great Beyond from director Abrams, as well as Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie.<\/p>\n<p>Godzilla in New York<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, Japan&#8217;s most famous monster thundered into CinemaCon as cinema owners got their first look at Godzilla Minus Zero, which sees the creature rampage through New York.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the offering from Japan&#8217;s Toho studio is a sequel to 2023&#8217;s Godzilla Minus One, which became an international sensation with a box office haul of $116 million as it bagged an Oscar for visual effects.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Takashi Yamazaki (R) speaks at the GKIDS presentation during CinemaCon at The Dolby Colosseum at Caesars Palace on 14 April, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Gabe Ginsberg\/WireImage)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/00243915-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nDirector Takashi Yamazaki&#8217;s (R) Godzilla Minus Zero, which sees the creature rampage through New York, will stomp into cinemas in November<\/p>\n<p>Yamazaki told the audience that &#8220;the immense scale and terror of Godzilla, as well as the human struggle to survive&#8230; [is] going to push your screens and your audiences to their limits&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The film, which opens in US cinemas on 6 November and stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe, is set in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, picking up the story of the Shikishima family as they face an even tougher challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Yamazaki, who also wrote the screenplay, offered a behind-the-scenes look at the production, along with clips featuring scenes of destruction and the arrival of the imposing monster in New York.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Takashi Yamazaki speaks at the GKIDS presentation during CinemaCon at The Dolby Colosseum at Caesars Palace on 14 April, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
