Wexford General Hospital<\/p>\n
There was a large multi-agency response at a Wexford housing estate on Wednesday afternoon, as a man’s body was removed from a house.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed, the National Ambulance Service and Wexford Fire Service all responded to a scene at Belvedere Grove and gained access to a house where they uncovered the body of a male, aged in his 60s.<\/p>\n
It is reported that the man\u2019s remains had lain undiscovered for quite some time.<\/p>\n
The scene was immediately cordoned off and a full examination was carried out, with locals reporting that men in \u201chazmat\u201d or boiler suits were seen emerging from the property.<\/p>\n
A garda source confirmed that a call came in at 1.40 p.m. from a concerned neighbour, requesting that garda\u00ed carry out a welfare check at the man\u2019s house. They were joined by the National Ambulance Service and Wexford Fire Service who assisted with the removal of the man’s remains. <\/p>\n
A forensic examination was carried out at the property before the man\u2019s remains were taken to University Hospital Waterford for a full post-mortem.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Garda Press Office said: \u201cGarda\u00ed are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a male in a domestic residence in the Townparks area of Wexford town, Co. Wexford this afternoon Wednesday, April 15.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe male\u2019s body has been removed from the scene. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.<\/p>\n
“The results of the examination will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
