\n\tCBS<\/a> is developing a cop drama called \u201cFlint\u201d with Matt LeBlanc<\/a> attached to star. If greenlit, the series will be part of the network\u2019s 2027-2028 lineup.<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the official logline, \u201cFlint\u201d (working title) stars LeBlanc as \u201ca burnt-out LAPD detective who, on the verge of retirement, is blindsided when the city extends his service by five years. Determined to get fired, he breaks rules and disobeys orders, which, to his dismay, makes him an even better cop.\u201d LeBlanc serves as executive producer in addition to starring. The project is from writer Evan Katz<\/a>, with CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television producing.<\/p>\n

\n\tLeBlanc is best known for playing Joey in \u201cFriends,\u201d the iconic sitcom that ran on NBC for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 and earned him three Emmy nominations over the years. He reprised the role in the spinoff \u201cJoey,\u201d which aired for two seasons from 2004 to 2006. For five seasons from 2011 to 2017, he played a fictionalized version of himself in the comedy series \u201cEpisodes,\u201d which aired on Showtime in the U.S. and BBC Two in the U.K. The series earned him four Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe win.<\/p>\n

\n\tKatz is best known for his work as a writer and producer on Seasons 2-8 of the Fox drama \u201c24,\u201d serving as showrunner on multiple seasons. His other credits include creating the UPN sci-fi comedy series \u201cSpecial Unit 2,\u201d which ran for two seasons from 2001 to 2008, and showrunning NBC\u2019s \u201cThe Event,\u201d which ran for one season from 2010 to 2011.<\/p>\n

\n\tNews of CBS\u2019 development slate was announced at a press briefing in Los Angeles on Wednesday where CBS also announced three other series in development: a comedy called \u201cHilda! In Lights\u201d from writer Abby Caldwell, which follows a 72-year-old widow from a small town who tries to make it as a Broadway star; a drama inspired by Barbara Rae-Venter\u2019s 2023 book \u201cI Know Who You Are: How an Amateur DNA Sleuth Unmasked the Golden State Killer and Changed Crime\u201d from writer Corinne Kingsbury; and a medical spinoff of \u201cFire Country\u201d and \u201cSherriff Country\u201d set in the world of Edgewater, Calif., from Matt Lopez, Tony Phelan, Joan Raider, Max Terrio and Jerry Bruckheimer Television.<\/p>\n
