The reposing of the remains of Scarlett Faulkner takes place in her native Limerick on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Faulkner\u2019s family released balloons into the sky in her memory yesterday, Wednesday, three weeks after she suffered critical injuries sustained when she was allegedly beaten about her head with an iron bar at the side of a roadway.<\/p>\n
As Faulkner\u2019s family prepared to bury the mother of one on Friday, her sister Victoria Faulkner, on behalf of their father, asked people to keep the peace at her wake and funeral.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy father asked me to pass on a message, that if anyone is fighting, any crowds that is coming to the funeral and are not getting on with each other, can ye please just pass each other for the sake of Scarlett and the day that\u2019s in it,\u201d said Ms Faulkner.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have had the hardest weeks of our lives, and look, we are suffering as it is with the loss of Scarlett, god love her and her lovely soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBut, any families that is fighting, please I beg of you, just pass each other for the day that\u2019s in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a video posted online, Victoria Faulkner appealed to mourners not to consume alcohol around her sister\u2019s funeral.<\/p>\n
\u201cLads, no alcohol to be allowed, no drink whatsoever. Drink cannot be allowed near any of the funeral or wakes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease, lads, we don\u2019t want any trouble, no trouble at all at all, at the funeral. Thanks very much.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scarlett Faulkner was taken off life support at Cork University Hospital last Sunday, and she was pronounced dead last Monday.<\/p>\n
A post-mortem examination was conducted on her remains this week, but garda\u00ed did not release details of the autopsy.<\/p>\n
Garda investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
Two persons are before the courts charged in connection with the attack on Faulkner on March 21st last.<\/p>\n
A 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with assault causing harm to Faulkner at the R494 road near Birdhill village, north Tipperary.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed alleged in court that the girl struck Scarlett Faulkner at least 11 times on her head with an iron bar, after chasing her along the R494 road, between Birdhill and the M7 motorway.<\/p>\n
A 40- year old woman, who also cannot be named due to reporting restrictions imposed by the court, allegedly rammed a car that Scarlett Faulkner was travelling in prior to the alleged attack.<\/p>\n
The accused woman is charged with endangerment, violent disorder and burglary.<\/p>\n
Scarlett Faulkner is survived by her parents, her six-year-old daughter, siblings, as well as a circle of extended family and friends.<\/p>\n
Her removal takes place at Cross\u2019s Funeral Home, Gerald griffin Street, Limerick from 2pm-4pm today.<\/p>\n
Ms Faulkner\u2019s funeral mass takes place at St Munchin\u2019s Church, at 11am Friday, followed by burial at Meelick Cemetery, south east Clare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The reposing of the remains of Scarlett Faulkner takes place in her native Limerick on Thursday.
