\n\tAs Ben Stiller<\/a> boards the promotional tour for \u201cFocker In-Law,\u201d the actor admits not all of the \u201cMeet the Parents\u201d sequels have worked.<\/p>\n

\n\tResponding to a post on X asking if one needs to watch the first three \u201cFocker\u201d movies to understand the plot of the upcoming fourth film starring Ariana Grande, Stiller wrote<\/a>, \u201cNo! But I stand by the first two.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen another user commented, \u201cSo what went wrong with Little Fockers? You worked on it,\u201d Stiller replied<\/a>, \u201cWe always try. Fully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMeet the Parents\u201d debuted in 2000 and starred Stiller facing off against his girlfriend\u2019s terrifying father, played by Robert De Niro. The 2004 sequel, \u201cMeet the Fockers,\u201d added Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand into the mix and focused on two sets of in-laws caught in a culture clash before their adult kids get married. In 2010, the cast returned for \u201cLittle Fockers,\u201d which received poor reviews and was the weakest franchise entry at the global box office.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fourth film, \u201cFocker In-Law,\u201d will be released on Nov. 25 and stars Grande as Olivia Jones, a potential new member of the Focker family. Olivia, a former FBI hostage negotiator, is dating Greg Focker\u2019s (Stiller) son, and psychological family warfare ensues.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is not the first time Stiller has reflected on his movies that haven\u2019t quite connected. In 2024, he spoke about \u201cZoolander 2\u201d<\/a> flopping at the box office, saying the results were \u201cblindsiding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI thought everybody wanted this,\u201d Stiller said of the sequel. \u201cAnd then it\u2019s like, \u2018Wow, I must have really fucked this up. Everybody didn\u2019t go to it.
