A woman killed in a horror two-car collision in Co Louth has been named locally as Jackie Lawlor.<\/p>\n
The crash, which involved two vehicles, took place on the Bellews Bridge Road in Castletown in Dundalk shortly after 1:45pm on Wednesday. The driver and sole occupant of one of the cars, a woman aged in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Her body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post-mortem will take place. In a tribute, one pal wrote: “May the angels of heaven keep you in their arms safe forever” before adding “going to miss you”.<\/p>\n
A woman, in her 30s, who was driving the other car, was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A garda<\/a> spokesman said: “Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 1:30pm and 2:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday 15th April 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n “Anyone with information is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9388400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”<\/p>\n Want to see more of the stories you love from Dublin Live?
