Kendra Caldwell\u2019s family is breaking their silence nearly a month after Kendra\u2019s husband, Joe Duggar, was arrested on allegations of child abuse and sexual misconduct.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A (Kendra- and Joe-free) family photo was posted<\/a> to the Caldwell Family\u2019s shared Instagram page this week, where the Caldwells expressed their sympathy for the victim of Joe\u2019s crimes\u2013 who was 9 years old at the time of the alleged incident in 2020\u2013 as well as Kendra and Joe\u2019s four children.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cOur family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law,\u201d they wrote. \u201cWe are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.<\/p>\n \u201cOur love for this child remains at the forefront of our family\u2019s priorities and minds,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cWe are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Kendra\u2019s family went on to write that victims like this young woman \u201cshould be able to share their story, to trust the judicial process, and do so without fear of retaliation,\u201d while maintaining that they are on her side.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Caldwells also mentioned in their statement that they are praying for Kendra and Joe\u2019s children\u2013 who are not currently in Kendra\u2019s care<\/a>\u2013 noting that they have also been impacted by Joe\u2019s alleged crimes.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAt the same time, we also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength,\u201d they wrote. \u201cOur love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Kendra\u2019s family also took the time in their statement to thank their supporters \u201cwho have given in all the ways, through prayer, finances, time, energy, and words of encouragement.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAt this time, we have no further comment and request privacy,\u201d the statement concluded.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Caldwell Family broke their silence on social media just hours after their friend and Christian influencer, Amy Paul, condemned Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar\u2019s actions<\/a> following their son Joe\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n As The Ashley previously told you, Jim Bob and Michelle allegedly retaliated against Kendra\u2019s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, due to a rumor that the couple was responsible for turning Joe in to the police<\/a>. This alleged retaliation happened in the form of\u00a0Kendra, Joe and the Duggars recently evicting Paul and Christina from the shared home the family had been living in since 2021, which belonged to Kendra and Joe.<\/p>\n As a result of the unexpected eviction, the Caldwells went on to launch a GoFundMe<\/a> earlier this month in order to raise money for \u201clegal fees and [to] secure safe housing.\u201d (To date, the Caldwell Family\u2019s GoFundMe<\/a> has raised more than $32,000 in donations, with their goal currently set at $35,000.)\u00a0<\/p>\n Kendra and Joe are facing four counts<\/a> of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
