\n\tIn a recent appearance on the Spanish-language podcast \u201cLa Pija y la Quinqui<\/a>,\u201d Almod\u00f3var offered a candid assessment of Elordi\u2019s career when asked whether he would consider casting him in a future project. His comments were delivered in Spanish and translated.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlmod\u00f3var acknowledged Elordi\u2019s growing star power, saying he believes the Australian actor is \u201cwithout doubt\u201d on track to become a major star. Still, he admitted he remains uncertain about how to define him, raising the question of whether Elordi is primarily a sex symbol or a performer with deeper dramatic range.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been wondering whether he\u2019s just a sex symbol or a respected actor,\u201d Almod\u00f3var said, adding that he would need to see Elordi in a role that demands more before reaching a clear conclusion.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe director also critiqued some of Elordi\u2019s recent projects, arguing that they do not fully showcase the actor\u2019s abilities. He pointed to \u201cWuthering Heights<\/a>\u201d and \u201cFrankenstein,\u201d suggesting the material limits the opportunity for more layered performances. Almod\u00f3var candidly characterized \u201cWuthering Heights\u201d as \u201cvery bad,\u201d while noting that neither Elordi nor his co-star Margot Robbie were to blame.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for \u201cFrankenstein,\u201d directed by Guillermo del Toro, Almod\u00f3var said the role can be \u201ccomfortable\u201d for an actor, arguing that modern interpretations of the character lean heavily on stylization and physical presence rather than emotional range.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe need to see him \u2014 or at least I do \u2014 in another role that demands more of him,\u201d he said. Elordi\u2019s profile has surged in recent years with roles in \u201cEuphoria,\u201d \u201cPriscilla\u201d and \u201cSaltburn,\u201d along with \u201cFrankenstein,\u201d which brought him awards-season attention. The actor has also expressed interest in working in Spanish-language films<\/a>, though he has said he would need to learn the language first. <\/p>\n
