ITV<\/a> show in Australia in 2012, the 45-year-old has returned to the programme for the second series of its All Stars spin-off, with the series recorded in South Africa last year. However, he has sparked fury with some of the comments he has made on the show, which have been slammed as “sexist” and “outrageous” by viewers and his fellow celebrities.<\/p>\nDuring his time in South Africa, Haye said that his girlfriend Sian had “the personality of a proper ugly bird,” adding: “Most ugly girls realise they don’t they’re not pretty enough to\u2026.they gotta have a personality to banter and to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they’re not aesthetically amazing, straight away.<\/p>\n
“They don’t have to have a personality, because most super pretty girls are just idiots,” he continued. “But then their ugly friend, they\u2019ve got work a bit harder, be more personable.”<\/p>\n
The remarks left the likes of fellow campmate Scarlett Moffatt shocked, while former Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts admitted she was left stunned by the retired boxer’s “outrageous language”.<\/p>\n
Haye has also clashed with actor Adam Thomas on the show, but his time in the jungle is not the first time that his mouth has got him into trouble.<\/p>\n
Back in 2016, the Bermondsey-born fighter forced Sky Sports to apologise after delivering an X-rated message to Tony Bellew during an explosive press conference, ahead of their hotly-anticipated ‘Grudge Match’ fight at the O2 Arena.<\/p>\n
The two boxers exchanged barbs throughout the press conference, with Haye even swinging a punch at his opponent as they squared up, forcing security to step in.<\/p>\n
However, it was one comment that Haye made that forced Sky to issue an apology, after he was offered the opportunity to send a message to Bellew directly to the cameras.<\/p>\n
Looking down the lens, the-then 36-year-old said: “You’re a b*****d,” with reporter Andy Burton immediately intervening to apologise and telling Haye that he had asked him not to swear.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the press conference, Haye had told Bellew – who also starred in I’m A Celeb in 2023 – that he would leave him unconscious in the ring, adding: “You’re not going to be able to chew your food.”<\/p>\n
He continued: “I\u2019ll end the fight when I want to. If I want to punish you for three rounds, I will, if I want to take you out in 30 seconds, I will. You have no say, you’re a chump.<\/p>\n
“The fact is you\u2019re getting KO\u2019d. I\u2019m going to stand there with my hands down, even if you hit me, nothing will happen.<\/p>\n
“You\u2019re getting knocked out. Destroyed. You don\u2019t have the pedigree, you don\u2019t have anything,” Haye added. “I\u2019ll be standing over your limp body in the ring. I\u2019ll come to hospital and let you play with my hair.”<\/p>\n
In the end, Bellew defeated Haye by a technical knockout in the 11th round, with the latter’s trainer Shane McGuigan throwing in the towel after he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the sixth round.<\/p>\n
Haye refused to blame his injury for the defeat, saying Bellew was “by far the better fighter” and calling for a rematch, which took place the following year.
