Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has thanked his fans for their support as he shared an image of himself in hospital.<\/p>\n
The solo artist is due to embark on a worldwide tour, which will see him perform in Manchester on May 12th before travelling to other UK cities and beyond.<\/p>\n
He is also due to perform in New York City on Monday, according to his website.<\/p>\n
Malik, who quit One Direction in 2015, did not disclose what was wrong with him \u2013 but the photo on his Instagram stories showed him lying in a bed in a hospital gown, hooked up to various machines and monitors.<\/p>\n
He wrote: \u201cTo my fans. Thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always \u2013 been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.<\/p>\n
\u201cHeartbroken that I can\u2019t see you all this week, I wouldn\u2019t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n
He thanked all the \u201cincredible hospital staff\u201d who had looked after him, including doctors, nurses and cardiologists.<\/p>\n
Malik added: \u201cYou are all legends!
