A milestone has been reached in the ongoing redevelopment of Ceannt Station – with new platforms set to open this weekend.<\/p>\n
Platforms 3 and 4 are entering service from tomorrow, Saturday, alongside platform 5.<\/p>\n
The focus of this project is simple – deliver a state-of-the-art, greatly expanded transport hub in the heart of Galway City.<\/p>\n
That means more platforms, more rail services, more facilities, and an expanded retail offering, all beneath a new glass roof.<\/p>\n
Now that platforms 3 and 4 are entering service this weekend, customers will have access to the new southern concourse, and all the modern facilities it offers.<\/p>\n
Focus will now turn to the northern section and platform 1, which will now close to enable transformative works there as well.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, work continues on platform 2 – and overall, it’s expected the red ribbon will be cut on a brand new Ceannt Station in August.<\/p>\n
