Samanta Schweblin, the 2022 recipient of the National Book Award for translated literature, will discuss her latest release, Good and Evil and Other Stories, at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Wild Detectives at 314 W. Eighth St. in Dallas.<\/p>\n

Joined by her translator, Megan McDowell, the Argentine author will present her exquisite collection of uncanny tales wherein a mute child sends his silence through a gas station telephone, a murdered cat briefly haunts a writer\u2019s colony and a sociopathic son uses his mother\u2019s frequent nursing home escapes as a form of violent talk therapy.<\/p>\n
