Lucia & The Best Boys<\/a> has announced new album \u2018Picking Petals\u2019 with the emotive single \u2018You Look Like Somebody In Love\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes following Lucia Fairfull sharing her first new music in three years back in February \u2013 joining forces with Chvrches\u2019 Lauren Mayberry for the joyous single \u2018Lonely Girl\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, she has confirmed that the single will feature in a new album, which is set for release on July 31 via Communion Records. Visit here<\/a> to pre-order.<\/p>\n

It will mark the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2023 debut album \u2018Burning Castles\u2019, and has been inspired by both the singer\u2019s Scottish heritage and the artists she admires for commanding the stage without apology.<\/p>\n

To accompany the album announcement, Lucia has shared the tender single \u2018You Look Like Somebody In Love\u2019.<\/p>\n

Kicking in with a \u201800s indie-inspired guitar riff, the song is led by Lucia\u2019s charismatic, upbeat vocal melody. \u201cWould you question it if I kept you near with the smell of your perfume?\/ I feel incomplete cause I\u2019m tragically falling more in love with you,\u201d she sings, building towards the euphoric, folky chorus: \u201cYou look like somebody in love\/ The less said the better I know\/ You look like somebody in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lucia & The Best Boys teamed up with acclaimed alt-pop producer Yves Rothman for the upcoming sophomore album, and recorded it in Mogwai\u2019s<\/a> Castle of Doom studios in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

The first two days saw them complete the currently-unreleased opening track \u2018Back Inside My Heart\u2019 \u2013 which Lucia describes as a bold, synth-fuelled anthem that contrasts the atmosphere captured in lead single \u2018Lonely Girl\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Picking Petals\u2019 is centred around themes of persistence and acceptance, and also features a baroque pop song called \u2018Big Romance\u2019 which sees the Scottish singer team up with The Last Dinner Party<\/a>\u2019s Abigail Morris.<\/p>\n

Later this year Lucia & The Best Boys will be playing some of her biggest shows to date, including a headline homecoming show at Glasgow\u2019s Barrowland on October 23.<\/p>\n

Back in 2019, Lucia spoke to NME<\/a> about \u201cleading Glasgow\u2019s young, vital glam renaissance\u201d and her growth as an artist.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think at first when you start doing this, you really care about the way you come across, and end up comparing and judging yourself a bit too much. This year, I discovered that I don\u2019t really give a fuck,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like the feeling of not knowing what I\u2019m gonna do next. I think it\u2019s more interesting. Nobody has to do one thing. I don\u2019t just like punk music. I don\u2019t just like disco music. I don\u2019t just like pop music. Why not combine everything you love into one?
