A multi-storey car park is set to be redeveloped into a major new primary healthcare centre in Ashbourne, Co Meath, following the granting of planning permission.<\/p>\n
The development will involve the change of use of 1,508 sq m of car parking space on car parking levels within the multi-storey car park into a new two-storey healthcare facility. It was approved for Star Stone Property Investments Limited by Meath County Council on March 30.<\/p>\n
The project proposed last April will include significant alterations to the existing structure, including removal of the car park roof, internal staircases, and sections of flooring to create a new internal courtyard space.<\/p>\n
The new 1,325 sq m primary healthcare centre will include consultation rooms, offices, toilets and ancillary accommodation, along with rooftop plant equipment and a new pedestrian access point from the upper car park level. <\/p>\n
A separate 53 sq m extension will also be constructed to provide a new entrance and fire escape, as well as internal circulation and stairs. New signage will be installed facing Killegland Street.<\/p>\n
The wider development also includes changes to existing commercial space within the building, with 705 sq m of mezzanine floors to be used for offices and 505 sq m allocated to leisure and recreation use.<\/p>\n
Additional works include changes to nearby road and footpath layouts, alterations to waste storage facilities, and the creation of a secure medical waste area.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile a total of 98 existing car parking spaces will be reallocated to support the new healthcare, office and leisure uses.<\/p>\n
The site includes Units 37 and 38 on Killegland Street, previously occupied by Eurogiant and New Look.<\/p>\n
