Craig Charles has said he thinks David Haye sometimes crossed the line during his time on I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 South Africa.<\/p>\n

The Red Dwarf star, who featured in the 2014 series of the show, also said he \u201cfelt sorry for\u201d his campmate Adam Thomas after his confrontation with the boxer in Friday\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n

Haye, 45, has faced controversy since appearing on the ITV reality show, most notably over the weekend after he criticised Thomas for opting out of a bushtucker trial because he was \u201cdehydrated\u201d and \u201cnot feeling well\u201d.<\/p>\n

The boxer was evicted from the jungle during Monday night\u2019s episode, and during his exit he insisted that he was \u201cbantering\u201d with the Waterloo Road star, but admitted he is an \u201cextremist\u201d and may have pushed too far.<\/p>\n

Appearing on ITV\u2019s Good Morning Britain, Charles opened up about the atmosphere in the camp, and addressed the altercation between Thomas and Haye that left viewers in uproar.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old actor and comedian said: \u201cI like David a lot, but there is a line and sometimes David can cross it.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid\u2019s used to \u2013 this is the way he used to sell his fights \u2013 you know, it\u2019s all this trash talk, \u2018I\u2019m going to knock his head off\u2019 and stuff like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s David\u2019s sort of idea of show business, and putting on a show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Emmerdale actor Thomas has since admitted that Haye \u201cpushed me to my limits\u201d while on the show, but said that the boxer has since apologised and the pair have moved on, adding: \u201cI\u2019m not one to hold a grudge.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also explained that he did not feel well due to having psoriatic arthritis, which is a long-term condition that causes joint pain, swelling and stiffness, according to the NHS.<\/p>\n

Addressing this, Charles said: \u201cIn fairness to David, I\u2019m not sure he\u2019s aware that Adam does have this medical issue where sometimes he can be a bit low on energy. And Adam manages that superbly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to the elimination during last night\u2019s episode, which saw Haye leave the camp alongside reality TV star Gemma Collins, Charles continued: \u201cI was feeling sorry for Adam. That\u2019s why I saved him in last night\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018I\u2019ll save Adam\u2019, because I could see that David\u2019s constant jibe was actually getting to him and having an emotional impact. I just wanted to give him a bit of a gee up, you know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n

Charles added: \u201cIt didn\u2019t really feel that bad in camp. I mean, there were some bits where we would be like, \u2018oh, come on David, leave it alone\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you were in there, it didn\u2019t feel as though watching on the telly. To me, it didn\u2019t feel as severe as it\u2019s come across.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is not the first time Haye has faced controversy for his actions on the spin-off show, having caused a stir last week for his remarks on \u201cugly birds\u201d while discussing his girlfriend Sian Osborne.<\/p>\n

Viewers have been promised more drama to come by presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, and it has been rumoured that former footballer Jimmy Bullard may not appear in the show\u2019s live final on Friday.<\/p>\n

Charles said: \u201cThe wheels definitely come off tonight. You need to watch tonight. It really kicks off.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018wow, I didn\u2019t see it coming either\u2019. I spoke to Jimmy a few days ago, and Jimmy said that he will see me on Friday \u2013 that\u2019s all I can tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n
