Rainfall radars for the Canary Islands and Ireland this week<\/p>\n
Ireland is poised to enjoy better weather compared to the Canary Islands over the coming days.<\/p>\n
The Spanish holiday favourites are facing cooler temperatures and above-average rainfall for this period and, after a turbulent winter and early spring, the Irish weather<\/a> improved significantly last weekend. And high pressure systems are expected to persist throughout the week, with Met Eireann<\/a> predicting temperatures could reach 21C this Friday.<\/p>\n In contrast, holidaymakers who’ve secured early breaks to the Canary Islands this week are facing disappointment as the weather deteriorates. Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather said: “The Canaries have cooled down and some parts of the Islands could see more rain than Ireland over the next 5 days.”<\/p>\n The capital can expect a mostly dry day today on Tuesday, with the possibility of just the odd isolated shower. However, it will be breezy today, especially near the coast, so make sure the windbreaker is packed.<\/p>\n Temperatures will continue to climb, reaching highs of 14C today. Tonight will remain the same, dry and breezy, with lows of 3C.<\/p>\n And the mercury will continue to tick up as the week goes on, with a potential peak of 21C on Friday. Here is what Met Eireann has to say for the week ahead:<\/p>\n Overview: High pressure will largely dominate for the rest of the week with mostly settled conditions, along with a warming trend too.<\/p>\n Wednesday: Wednesday will be dry with sunny spells for most. Remaining breezy though with brisk easterly winds. Highs of 11 to 13 degrees, again best values further inland away from the coast.<\/p>\n Wednesday night: Some showers will affect parts of the West and Southwest early on. Otherwise, it will be a dry night with clear spells. Rather cool with lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees, in a moderating easterly breeze.<\/p>\n Thursday: A dry and sunny day with no more than moderate southeasterly breezes. Very mild with highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees, best values further west.<\/p>\n Friday: Another dry, fine sunny day for most, again with no more than moderate southeasterly breezes. Warm in sunshine with afternoon highs of 14 to 21 degrees, best values again further west. Some thundery showers may feed into southwest counties.<\/p>\n This weekend: Remaining mostly dry with light winds and good spells of sunshine, as well as above average temperatures for late April.
