\n\tWhen \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a>\u201d hits theaters on May 1, audiences will notice a few famous faces \u2014 though there\u2019s a couple of notable absences.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe sequel, which premiered Monday night in New York, is loaded with cameos from the fashion and entertainment worlds. Lady Gaga<\/a> makes an appearance<\/a>, and also recorded a Doechii-assisted track, \u201cRunway,\u201d for the film\u2019s soundtrack. Donatella Versace, who stepped down as creative director of her family\u2019s brand, filmed a scene in Milan for a cameo. Supermodel Naomi Campbell also appears, having been seated next to Meryl Streep\u2019s Miranda Priestly at the Dolce & Gabbana spring 2026 show,<\/a> which was shot live during Milan Fashion Week.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tBut not everyone who showed up on set made it onto the screen.<\/p>\n

\n\tSydney Sweeney<\/a>\u2018s cameo was cut from the film, Entertainment Weekly first reported<\/a>. <\/a>The \u201cEuphoria\u201d star filmed a roughly three-minute scene near the top of the movie in which she played herself, being dressed for an event by Emily Blunt\u2019s character, Emily Charlton \u2014 now running Dior\u2019s U.S. operations. According to a source, the scene did not work structurally with the rest of the sequence, and the team found the decision to remove it a difficult one. <\/a>Sweeney, for her part, has hardly been hurting for screen time lately: She recently returned to the project that launched her to superstardom, appearing in the long-awaited third season of \u201cEuphoria\u201d on HBO.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso trimmed from the finished film is \u201cHow to Get Away With Murder\u201d actor Conrad Ricamora, who had been cast as Andy\u2019s roommate. Sources say the character didn\u2019t survive test screenings (audiences kept questioning why Andy needed a roommate at all). The final film instead leans into her spending time at Tracie Thoms\u2019 character\u2019s place, a dynamic that sources say plays more realistic to the 2006 original.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, one cameo that never happened was Jessica Chastain\u2019s. Rumors of the Oscar winner appearing in the film circulated online in July 2025 after the actress was seen in New York City during the time of principal photography<\/a>. However, the gossip proved to be false because Chastain never even filmed a cameo.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen speaking with Variety\u2019s Marc Malkin at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in March about a possible cameo, Anna Wintour<\/a> played coy, telling him, \u201cThat\u2019s for you to find out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tConsider it found out. The Cond\u00e9 Nast global content chief visited the sequel\u2019s Milan set<\/a>, where director David Frankel captured her in what he called a \u201cgag take\u201d that will appear as a bonus feature on streaming \u2014 though Wintour got ahead of her cue, leaving the shot partially out of focus. \u201cI can\u2019t ask Anna to do take two,\u201d Frankel told the \u201cBack Row\u201d<\/a> podcast. Her contribution behind the camera proved more consequential anyway: While watching a scene roll in the fictional Dior offices, Wintour zeroed in on the flowers in frame, declared there were too many and they were too pink and informed the crew that Dior would only ever have white flowers.
