Rather than springing from nothing in a singular explosive event, the universe may have expanded following a collapse and recoil, similar to a coiled spring snapping back.<\/p>\n<p>The concept, first proposed in the 1970s by Indian physicist Raj Kumar Pathria, long remained on the fringes of cosmology. However, renewed academic interest and recent astronomical observations have brought it back into scientific debate. Proponents argue that black holes may not simply consume matter but could act as incubators for entirely new universes forming within them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the theory, matter falling into a black hole would be compressed to a quantum boundary. Instead of collapsing into a singularity, it would reach a critical threshold and rebound, generating expansion on the other side \u2014 an event that could resemble what we interpret as the birth of our universe.<\/p>\n<p>The Big Bounce model has also been explored by other researchers. In 2017, Brazilian physicist Juliano Cesar Silva Neves of the University of Campinas argued that the universe may have undergone a prior phase of contraction before expanding again. His study, published in General Relativity and Gravitation, suggested that remnants of such a collapse could potentially be observed in existing black holes.<\/p>\n<p>Recent findings from the James Webb Space Telescope have added further intrigue.
