Emmerdale<\/a>‘s Natalie Ann Jamieson has confirmed she recently got into a car accident, but was thankfully rescued by her former co-star Olivia Bromley. In a heartfelt post on Instagram<\/a>, Jamieson called Bromley a “hero”. <\/p>\n

“Find yourself a friend who will drive half way across Yorkshire to rescue you when you\u2019ve been hit by a Lorry!” wrote the actor, who played Amy Wyatt in the ITV soap<\/a>. “RIP little red car. Thank you my lovely @oliviabromley_ for being our hero.”<\/p>\n

Jamieson, whose six-year stint in the series came to an end last year, added that everybody involved in the incident was “okay” as nobody had sustained an injury, with the star thanking followers for their “lovely messages”.<\/p>\n

The post also contained a few selfies of the pair, while Bromley, who plays Dawn Fletcher in the soap, replied with four love heart emojis. Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton, said he was “glad” that the pair were “all good”.<\/p>\n

Jamieson made her final appearance as Amy in February 2025, with the beloved character being killed off after being involved in a limousine crash. At the time of her exit<\/a>, the actor paid tribute to her co-stars. <\/p>\n

“I have had the best six years of my life playing this gobby Geordie with a heart of gold!” wrote the star on Instagram. “What a way to go – so so proud of the cast and crew who achieved all this in these last few eps!”<\/p>\n

“I’ve got so many amazing things to say about @emmerdale but for tonight just thank you for everything! And thank you to everyone of you who came on the journey with me, and all your beautiful messages you have sent to me! Lots and lots of love,” they added.<\/p>\n

Bromley, meanwhile, is rumoured to be departing the soap later this year<\/a> after eight years in the role. Though this hasn’t been officially confirmed, a report from last month detailed that the character would be written out. <\/p>\n

In a feature from Digital Spy<\/a>, we urged producers to give Dawn a fitting farewell if the rumours prove to be true, writing: “If Emmerdale is giving Dawn her voice back at long last, perhaps she can avoid a woeful, low-key departure.”<\/p>\n

“As a warrior of a woman who turned her life around, it’s vital that Dawn’s send-off is anything but quiet. So please, Emmerdale, play to her strengths with a final arc that’s all about her \u2013 and make it one to remember,” we concluded.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
