Actress Danielle Fishel reunited with her high school ex-boyfriend, Lance Bass.<\/p>\n

The pair recreated their prom photo from 1999, with the Boy Meets World star rewearing the very same white dress.<\/p>\n

Bass and Fishel broke up shortly after prom, and the *NSYNC hitmaker later came out as gay.<\/p>\n

Danielle Fishel<\/a> and her high school ex-boyfriend, *NSYNC’s Lance Bass<\/a>, just reunited in the best possible way\u2014by recreating their iconically awkward prom photo.<\/p>\n

The Boy Meets World actress, 44, shared the hilarious moment in an Instagram<\/a> video, which saw her wearing the very same white backless dress from 1999 as Bass wrapped an arm around her waist. The pair left a little gap between themselves, just like the original photo.<\/p>\n

“We recreated our 1999 Prom pic, hoverhand and all (and yes, that\u2019s the ACTUAL dress!) I still don\u2019t know why we didn\u2019t work out!!” Fishel joked in the caption.<\/p>\n

Fishel and Bass dated briefly in the ’90s. In 2022, Fishel recalled the relationship lasted “about a year” during an appearance on the “Pod Meets World” podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLance and I had a very wonderful, very warm, loving relationship but it was completely lacking of intimacy \u2014 intimacy in the romantic sense,\u201d Fishel said. \u201cI held on for hope for way too long that we were going to get back together and get married and have a family\u2026It turns out I\u2019m not Lance\u2019s type.\u201d<\/p>\n

They broke up shortly after their prom date.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the night Lance talks about\u2026where he felt like he was hurting me by not being honest with himself or anyone else about what was going on in his life. And so it was kind of the impetus for him to say, \u2018I\u2019m going to end our relationship,\u2019\u201d Fishel explained.<\/p>\n

Bass came out as gay with a People<\/a> cover story in 2006. \u201cI\u2019m not ashamed\u2014that\u2019s the one thing I want to say,” he said. “I don\u2019t think it\u2019s wrong, I\u2019m not devastated going through this. I\u2019m more liberated and happy than I\u2019ve been my whole life. I\u2019m just happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite breaking up, the exes have remained in touch over the years and even announced plans to work on a movie that used their prom story as inspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason we wanted to make this prom story into a film, I think so many people can relate to that story; so many people in the LGBT community, their prom night was the night they were like, \u2018Oh, wait a minute. This can\u2019t happen anymore,\u2019\u201d Bass told Variety<\/a> in 2022. \u201cThis was the catalyst for me that made me start to accept myself, which took a long time after that, but that was definitely the first little straw that broke.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bass is now married to painter and actor Michael Turchin, and the pair are parents to twins, Violet and Alexander, born via surrogate in 2021.<\/p>\n

Fishel is also married to writer, producer, and podcaster Jensen Karp, and they share sons Keaton and Adler, born in 2021 and 2019.<\/p>\n
