The measure is part of a new mandatory system that will transform recycling practices across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The new model, known as the Deposit, Return, and Refund System (SDDR), will mean that each container carries an additional cost of at least 10 cents. This amount will not be a permanent price increase, but rather a deposit that consumers will recover when they return the empty container to participating stores or machines.<\/p>\n<p>It will apply to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.majorcadailybulletin.com\/tag\/Plastic.html?utm_source=Inline-tag&amp;utm_medium=internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">plastic<\/a> bottles, cans, and cartons up to three litres, including common products such as water, soft drinks, beer, and juices.<\/p>\n<p>The regulation comes after it was determined that the recycling targets set for 2023 have not been met. In light of this situation, the legislation requires the implementation of a more effective system within two years.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to significantly increase container collection and reduce the environmental impact, particularly regarding plastic waste.
