{"id":411837,"date":"2026-04-22T14:03:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/411837\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T14:03:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:03:11","slug":"trains-already-sold-out-as-cork-fans-eye-up-all-ireland-final-early","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/411837\/","title":{"rendered":"Trains already sold out as Cork fans eye up All-Ireland final early"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Provincial Championships may be underway, but it feels like some fans in Cork have gotten a bit carried away.<\/p>\n<p>The Rebel County are looking to make up for last year\u2019s disappointing display against Tipperary in the All-Ireland Hurling final, and they got their Munster campaign off to the best start as they <a href=\"https:\/\/extra.ie\/2026\/04\/21\/sport\/patrick-horgan-tipperary\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">comfortably beat Tipp<\/a> in their own backyard at Semple Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Cork blitzed the All-Ireland Champions in the second half, and speaking afterwards, Ciar\u00e1n Joyce said the team knew there was more to come from them after they went into the break tied at 13 points apiece.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/3433037.jpg\" alt=\"cork\" class=\"wp-image-1765516\"  \/>Cork fans are already eyeing up the All-Ireland final. Pic: Brendan Moran\/Sportsfile<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We knew there was definitely more in us,\u2019 said Joyce about their half-time team talk. \u2018Going in at half-time, 13-all, we felt we were yet to catch fire \u2013 in training the last couple of weeks, we\u2019ve been going well.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We were just waiting for things to happen, really, in the first half. Pic: Daire Brennan\/Sportsfile<\/p>\n<p>Eagled-eyed users on X have already noticed that two trains from Cork to Dublin have been sold out for Sunday, July 19, the day of the All-Ireland Hurling Final, the 8:25am and 10:25am trains from Kent Station to Heuston.<\/p>\n<p>With the average 8-carriage service having a 422 passenger capacity, that means over 800 people have already planned their route to the All-Ireland final, well before any provincial Championships are done, let alone the All-Ireland Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Cork, along with Munster rivals Limerick, are the heavy favourites to lift the Liam MacCarthy Trophy this summer.
