Concerns over delays to planned University Hospital Waterford<\/a> upgrades were raised in the D\u00e1il this week, as Sinn F\u00e9in TD David Cullinane questioned the timeline for several major healthcare projects.<\/p>\n During an exchange with Minister of State for Mental Health Mary Butler, Deputy Cullinane highlighted frustration among the public over slow progress on key developments at the hospital.<\/p>\n Mental health unit expansion moves forward<\/p>\n A central focus of the discussion was the long-awaited replacement of the existing 44-bed adult mental health unit at University Hospital Waterford.<\/p>\n Minister Butler confirmed that plans have now advanced, with the project moving to the next stage.<\/p>\n \u201cThe design team will be appointed very shortly\u2026 and we\u2019ll finally make progress.
