Adam Thomas has said being on the show impacted him mentally (Danny Lawson\/PA)<\/p>\nAdam Thomas has tearfully admitted he went to therapy after a \u201ctough time with one of the campmates\u201d pushed him to \u201cbreaking point\u201d, on I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 South Africa.<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old actor has previously said boxer David Haye \u201cpushed me to my limits\u201d while on the ITV reality show, and has detailed struggling while in the jungle due to having psoriatic arthritis.<\/p>\n
Viewers also saw the Waterloo Road star break down in tears during last night\u2019s episode, following an explosive row with campmate Jimmy Bullard for almost compromising his time on the show.<\/p>\n
Speaking to his brothers Scott and Ryan on their At Home With The Thomas Bro\u2019s podcast, the actor broke down in tears as he told of his \u201ctough time\u201d during the all-star series.<\/p>\n
Thomas said:\u00a0\u201cI know for a fact I am not the same person as I was when I went into the jungle to when I came out. It\u2019s changed me and that\u2019s no over-exaggeration.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m in therapy now because like it\u2019s f***** with me mentally because I just thought, how is this happening? I\u2019m a 37-year-old man, how am I letting some other person do this to me in here?\u201d<\/p>\n
The former Emmerdale actor also explained how he felt he had \u201cnowhere to hide\u201d, and said: \u201cI said to my therapist, \u2018why did I never like stick up for myself?\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was always putting other people\u2019s feelings first before mine because I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t want to bring any attention to this\u2019 \u2013 if I say anything now, I\u2019m going to cause drama, I\u2019m going to dampen everyone\u2019s spirits and I\u2019m going to cause tension.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I just took it. I just took it and took it and took it until eventually it got to a point where I was like, \u2018I\u2019m literally at breaking point here\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas said he later spoke to the campmate who made him feel upset, who then apologised and explained why he had acted in that way.<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cI remember when they left in camp as well, it was like a big weight had been lifted off my shoulders, because I went proper in on myself.<\/p>\n
\u201cI couldn\u2019t be myself around this person because I thought everything that I say would be turned against me, and I was just like, \u2018this is just too much\u2019. I remember not talking to anyone and I just felt so lonely in there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Thomas added: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t like physically bullying or anything like that. I\u2019m not saying it\u2019s bullying or whatnot, but it was a mind f***.\u201d<\/p>\n
The star grew tearful as he recalled wishing he stuck up for himself while on the show, and said: \u201cThat was beating me up, more so than anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I saw that happening to anyone else, I\u2019d stand up for them, but I just couldn\u2019t do it for myself. I just like became like a little kid again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Viewers have recently seen Thomas clash with campmates Bullard and Haye, with the actor taking to Instagram over the weekend to address his clash with the boxer, who criticised him for opting out of a bushtucker trial because he was \u201cdehydrated\u201d and \u201cnot feeling well\u201d.<\/p>\n
In the post, Thomas admitted Haye \u201cpushed me to my limits\u201d while in the jungle, but said he has since apologised and the pair have moved on, adding: \u201cI\u2019m not one to hold a grudge.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also explained that he was struggling due to psoriatic arthritis, which is a long-term condition that causes joint pain, swelling and stiffness, according to the NHS.<\/p>\n
