The author of \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada\u201d famously penned the book based on her real-life experience as Anna Wintour\u2019s assistant that became the 2006 film and sparked the forthcoming sequel \u2014\u00a0but it wasn\u2019t all coffee runs and dowdy sweaters.<\/p>\n

Instagram\/laurenweisberger<\/p>\n Calling life \u201cweird and wonderful\u201d in an Instagram post<\/a> after the event, the author revealed that her daughter carried a bag \u2014\u00a0Prada, no less \u2014 that Wintour herself had gifted Weisberger back in the day.<\/p>\n \u201cMany moons ago Anna Wintour gifted me the very Prada bag that, tonight, my beautiful daughter carried down the red carpet,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n Weisberger worked a Vogue magazine for less than a year at the very beginning of 2000 before releasing her book in 2003. Though it\u2019s unclear when exactly Wintour gifted the purse, it is of the early aughts: the original iteration of the now-iconic Cleo bag.<\/p>\n She also shared some behind-the-scenes selfies with her family throughout the evening.
