Sam Guggenheimer has publicly confronted past behaviour she says \u201ccrossed lines\u201d, adding she was \u201cscared\u201d of who she\u2019d become.<\/p>\n
After a month of silence, she has taken to her podcast, Hotter Than Yesterday, to explain her absence and take responsibility, admitting she \u201churt people\u201d.<\/p>\n
Guggenheimer began by outlining ongoing legal and representation issues dating back to a stint living in London last year, saying confidentiality limited what she could say publicly, especially about a relationship breakdown with former best friend and podcast co-host Izzy Armitage.<\/p>\n
In the contrite and detailed episode, the 23-year-old acknowledged “behaviour that crossed lines\u201d, \u201crepeated mistakes\u201d and admitted because she failed to learn from them, it continued to cause harm.<\/p>\n
The influencer conceded online and media critics calling her \u201cmean\u201d and \u201crude\u201d weren\u2019t imagining it. <\/p>\n
By her own admission, those labels often fit.<\/p>\n
She referenced a body-shaming remark by someone else that went viral after she amplified it, saying it came at a time she\u2019d \u201cshrunk\u201d and had \u201cturned into someone I could no longer recognise.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hated myself so much. I gave in to what the trolls online were saying about me and I definitely think I started acting in accordance.<\/p>\n
\u201cI deflected that onto social media as quite a hurt, defensive and sometimes a mean person.\u201d <\/p>\n
She said she\u2019s returned to therapy, set firmer boundaries and rebuilt daily structure around her existing ADHD and anxiety diagnosis, adding: \u201cI will have mental health issues for the rest of my life, but I\u2019m here, and I\u2019m trying, and I\u2019m ready to show up again as my messy self and own that, but also be better.\u201d<\/p>\n
She admitted she got caught up in constant partying over summer \u2013 which was never really for her \u2013 and said she was pulling pin on the booze.<\/p>\n
\u201cI took that too far this summer, way too far, and I\u2019m officially done.\u201d<\/p>\n
Guggenheimer also addressed the Coachella chatter after people accused her of begging brands for free tickets, saying she paid her own way, friends helped source a ticket, and she didn\u2019t attend as a creator.<\/p>\n
Now feeling settled in Sydney, Guggenheimer\u2019s been seeing someone for a little while but is keeping it off mic for now, wary of the \u201cBondi bubble\u201d she\u2019s only now getting used to.<\/p>\n
