David Haye called the row \u2018banter\u2019. Photo: Yui Mok\/PA.<\/p>\nBoxer David Haye has described his I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 South Africa campmate, actor Adam Thomas, \u201cweak\u201d and \u201cbrittle-spirited\u201d following their heated confrontation on the reality show.<\/p>\n
Haye, 45, has faced controversy since appearing on the ITV show, after criticising Thomas for opting out of a bushtucker trial.<\/p>\n
During the episode, Thomas said he was \u201cdehydrated\u201d and \u201cnot feeling well\u201d and later explained that he has psoriatic arthritis, which is a long-term condition that causes joint pain, swelling and stiffness, according to the NHS.<\/p>\n

In response, Haye called Thomas \u201cuseless\u201d, adding: \u201cWho gives a shit if he doesn\u2019t feel well. He\u2019s a grown-ass man.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since the episodes aired, Thomas admitted to his brothers Scott and Ryan on their At Home With The Thomas Bro\u2019s podcast that he went to therapy after a \u201ctough time with one of the campmates\u201d pushed him to \u201cbreaking point\u201d, on the show.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Sun, Haye said: \u201cBit of banter back and forth, if that\u2019s what breaks him, obviously that means he comes from a very soft, padded lifestyle.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a few comments breaks him, how soft is he? How weak, how brittle-spirited is he?<\/p>\n
\u201cAdam\u2019s like a kind of chihuahua. I\u2019m more of a Doberman or a boxer or a pit bull or something.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe doesn\u2019t need therapy\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe needs to do some push-ups, he needs to get out there and get in amongst other males who are powerful, who do stuff and don\u2019t sit there talking all the goddamned time about how hard life is.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked if he would have reacted differently had he known of Thomas\u2019s health condition, he said: \u201cI couldn\u2019t care less.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone\u2019s got something.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you go to the doctor and say, I don\u2019t feel well because of this, that, the other, they\u2019ll prescribe you something, give you some pills, and now you\u2019ve got this thing to hold on to.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo any situation that might be uncomfortable, you go, \u2018Look, I\u2019ve got this doctor\u2019s note\u2019 and they\u2019ll all feel sorry for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think whatever the trial was, he didn\u2019t like the sound of it, so he\u2019s lying in bed, so I gave him some shit about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boxer went on to deny accusations of bullying and said: \u201cI didn\u2019t feel when I was in there I was bullying anybody. There was no physical, there was no threats, not from me anyway.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was just banter to another guy who was nearly 40 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n

David Haye left the show on Monday night (Ian West\/PA)<\/p>\n
Haye added that he thinks Thomas will win the show \u201cbecause he is the victim\u201d of the series.<\/p>\n
Despite the criticism, he said that he \u201cactually got on\u201d with the actor and that he apologised to him on the flight back to the UK.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cIt might seem like we are arch enemies, but I\u2019ve got no beef with him whatsoever and I don\u2019t think he\u2019s got any beef with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
