This weekend is expected to be the \u201cwarmest yet this year\u201d, Met \u00c9ireann<\/a> has said, as temperatures are likely to reach 20 degrees.<\/p>\n

According to provisional data, the highest temperature recorded so far this year was 19.1 degrees at the Valentia Observatory in Co Kerry on March 19th.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current forecast shows that indeed, the coming weekend might be the warmest yet in this year \u2013 circa 20 degrees in the west of the country,\u201d said a spokesperson for the forecaster.<\/p>\n

Weather<\/a> conditions are \u201cmild for the time of year\u201d, the forcaster said, with current indications suggesting temperatures could remain in the mid to high teens next week.<\/p>\n

Thursday, which is set to be dry with spells of hazy sunshine, will see temperatures peak at 18 degrees in some areas, though it will be warmest in the west.<\/p>\n

Clear spells will continue through Thursday night, with temperatures dipping to lows of 2 to 7 degrees.<\/p>\n

Friday is set to be warmer again, with highest temperatures generally reaching 15 to 20 degrees, again warmest in the west. Met \u00c9ireann said it will be a \u201clittle cooler\u201d near eastern and southern coasts.<\/p>\n

On Friday, however, cloud will build later in the day in the southwest, with the possibility of some scattered showers there. Some of those showers could be \u201cheavy or thundery\u201d.<\/p>\n

Although Friday night will be dry and clear for most, it will be cloudier in the southwest and possibly the west, where showers are expected. Again, some will turn heavy with thunderstorms possible, Met \u00c9ireann said.<\/p>\n

Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees are expected on Saturday but cooler near coasts, the forecaster added.<\/p>\n

The day will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells, the best of which will be in the north and east of the country.<\/p>\n

Showers, some of which will be heavy or \u201cthundery\u201d, are expected elsewhere on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Night-time lows of between 5 and 9 degrees are forecast for Saturday, a slight rise from the previous nights.<\/p>\n

Mild conditions will continue on Sunday, with highs of 14 to 18 degrees expected by Met \u00c9ireann. Although there will be some showers, sunny spells early in the day will improve with more widespread sunshine expected thereafter.<\/p>\n

There is some uncertainty surrounding Monday\u2019s forecast, though it is likely to be another largely dry day with spells of sunshine and isolated showers.<\/p>\n

Highest temperatures of between 15 and 19 degrees are expected.<\/p>\n
